Volunteer Opportunities

Our volunteer team is crucial and, without their hard work and dedication, our goals, and the goals of the participants we serve, could not be achieved.  Although volunteering in our programs and around our barn are our biggest volunteer needs, we also offer additional volunteer opportunities, please see our list below.

Sidewalkers

Walk and/or lightly jog alongside horses at the instructors' direction to support the participant during mounted activities. You will be trained in the use of various holds to contribute to the safety of the rider.

Leaders

Lead our horses during programming with attention to safety, emergency procedures and leading techniques to support our participants as they grow, learn and develop independence.

Barn Help

Barn volunteers assist the barn staff with chores such as mucking stalls, sweeping the aisle, cleaning and filling water buckets. Weekend volunteers require prior horse experience and will demonstrate a high level of equine competency.

Gala Committee

If you enjoy networking and fundraising, please inquire about joining our Gala Committee for our annual black-tie event, Horsing Around at the Mandarin gala held in November.

Facility Maintenance

We are always looking for people with maintenance skills; Fences need fixing and painting, solar panels and fencing need updating, water spigots need repair, paths need grading and better drainage. Carpenters, plumbers, electricians welcome!

Groom/Wellness Check

Grooms prepare the tack and brush the horse before lessons or therapy sessions to support our instructors & therapists. Wellness checks are used to give our horses extended times of TLC and can include bathing and intensive grooming.

Gardening

Our volunteers assist with keeping our flower and vegetable gardens mulched, weeded and pruned. If you have a green thumb and like working in an inclusive environment, we would love to have your help.

Development, Fundraising,
PR / Marketing

Whatever your skills or passions are, we likely have a need utilizing your experience. Currently we’d love support from individuals with fundraising and donor development expertise.
